Kazakhstan and Italy will jointly train specialists for green energy

Kazakhstan and Italy will jointly train personnel for green energy. This was agreed upon by the Eurasian National University, Arm Wind Company and Eni Corporate University, signing an agreement on the joint implementation of the education program "Green Energy Technology" at ENU.

Students of the Green Energy Technology education program will listen to lectures and scientific seminars by experts from Italy and Kazakhstan, as well as undergo scientific internships and placements in foreign universities and scientific organizations in the field of renewable energy.

"The concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the transition to a "green economy" provides for the improvement of the ecological, economic and social status of the country through responsible consumption of natural resources. This is confirmed by the Paris Agreement signed by Kazakhstan.

ENU contributes to the formation and dissemination of knowledge on "green energy" by creating education programs, conducting scientific research and projects. I am confident that the implementation of the education program together with Arm Wind and the Eni Corporate University will allow students to master advanced technologies and practices in the field of environmental protection," ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov said.

Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Marco Alberti said that by 2025, renewable energy power plants will replace coal-fired power plants, and 50% of electricity worldwide will be replaced by renewable energy sources by 2030.

"Kazakhstan will be able to allocate 26 gigawatts of capacity by 2035. Decarbonization requires financial investments, a factory of personnel. We need people from Kazakhstan who will be able to have these skills by 2030. Kazakhstan needs talents in Kazakhstan," the diplomat said.

Federico Pugliese, CEO of Arm Wind, noted:

"We notice problems in the field of environmental protection and therefore consider it important to make every effort to resolve this issue. Our education program is designed to provide the next generation with the skills, knowledge and experience to solve problems in this field. Renewable energy sources are becoming strategically important. In this regard, the joint education program of our parties will provide students with the necessary skills through the use of innovative technologies."

During the event, the head of the ENU Thermal Power Engineering Department Samal Sadykova also spoke about the implementation of the joint program "Green Energy Technologies", ECU General Manager Silvia Rappini, as well as Professor Raffaella Gerboni.

It is worth noting that Arm Wind Company is engaged in the construction of wind and solar power plants in Kazakhstan.

Eni Corporate University is engaged in the selection, hiring, and training of the Company’s personnel, including through cooperation with universities and research centers.
