Invitation to Collaborate on a Joint Proposal for Water Resource Management in Central Asia

We are pleased to inform you about an exciting new initiative aimed at addressing critical water resource management challenges in Central Asia through advanced remote sensing technologies. This project is a collaborative effort between European and Central Asian institutions, leveraging the latest advancements in satellite data to enhance our understanding and management of water resources.

The project focuses on:

•  Mapping and inventory of water bodies, vegetation cover, and irrigated areas

•  Quantifying water redistribution and analyzing hydrological balances

•  Predicting future water stocks and flows using hydrological models and climate scenarios

•  Providing training and establishing regional expertise centers

We believe that your institution's expertise and regional insights would be invaluable to this initiative. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from universities and stakeholders in Central Asia who would like to be involved in this joint proposal. Your participation would involve data collection, infrastructure provision, skill acquisition, and the establishment of operational centers.

If your institution is interested in collaborating on this project, please contact Dr. Ben Jarihani [ben.jarihani@gmail.com]. We would be happy to provide more details and discuss how we can work together to achieve our common goals.

We look forward to the possibility of working with you to make a significant impact on water resource management in Central Asia.
