One of the main goals of the USAID-funded Smart Waters project is to increase the capacity of water sector employees on Integrated Water Resources Management and Basin Planning. How to make knowledge transfer sustainable? How to cover more specialists with fewer expenses? Of course by teaching students – future water sector employees – during their study at the universities. We are pleased to present you the first curricula on basin planning developed especially for the bachelor student of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME). The curricula is based on the Handbook on Basin Planning and practical experience of the project. Now the bachelor students of TIIAME can learn basin planning as an elective course during their study at the university. For now, the curricula is available on the Uzbek language. We will launch the Russian version soon as well to be used by other universities in the region.
