Amu Darya River Day celebrations in Central Asia

River Days were launched as an international event in 2004 to raise awareness of the need for improving water management and conservation around the world.

Over the past two years, USAID helped organize Syr Darya and Amu Darya River Day celebrations in Central Asian countries. The events produced some great memories, but, more importantly, some great discussions and activities for improving water use and climate resilience in the region.

Please enjoy this recap video featuring the Amu Darya River Day celebrations in the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
