Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – A representative of the Network of Academic Societies presented a report on a round table organized at the end of last year at the level of the departments “Melioration and Water Resources Management”, “Hydraulic Engineering”, “Applied Geodesy and Cartography” of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I.Scriabin and the departments “Civil and Labor Law”, “Environmental and Land Law” of the Law Institute at the Kyrgyz National University named after Zh.Balasagyn.
This round table was held following the results of a training on water diplomacy and international water law conducted by the USAID Central Asia’s Regional Water and Vulnerable Environment Activity, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia on November 20-23, 2023 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The teaching staff of the departments, undergraduates and senior students discussed the materials presented at the training and noted their importance and the need for adaptation in the relevant disciplines. It should be noted that the training materials can help in the training of qualified specialists who will solve transboundary water issues at the regional level.
